People who've done this before.

VOTUM is a software engineering company built around experienced engineers covering complementary disciplines — architecture, development, DevOps, quality and operations. We hire specialists with production engineering backgrounds and give them the ownership and environment to keep growing.

Our mission
Engineering organizations that outlast the engagement.

We optimize for long-term ownership and maintainability, not just feature delivery — and for the moment you no longer need us: when your team is confident, your systems are stable, and the architecture we built together is something you can grow on for years.

That means we embed deeply. We sit in your standups, write your documentation, and have the conversations that don't fit in a Jira ticket. It's slower in the short term and more valuable in the long term.

VOTUM was built by engineers who had spent years watching the same patterns fail — disconnected strategy, short-term execution, and handoffs that left teams worse off than when the engagement started. We set out to build the alternative.

Our principles

Six things we won't compromise on.

01
Senior-led delivery

Client work is led by experienced engineers, and expertise stays close to delivery — the people making the technical decisions work directly on your product. You pay for expertise, you get expertise.

02
Ownership, not output

We measure success by outcomes, not tickets closed. If a feature shipped but the system is harder to maintain, we didn't succeed. We own the full lifecycle of what we build.

03
No architecture astronauts

We recommend the simplest solution that solves the real problem. We won't introduce complexity to look sophisticated or to extend the engagement. If a boring solution is the right one, we'll say so.

04
Scope and success criteria agreed before build

We won't start building until we understand the problem. Every engagement starts with a discovery phase — even a short one. Scope agreed on paper beats scope discovered in code.

05
Transparent progress

You see what we're doing every week. No black-box development cycles. Regular progress reviews and demos throughout delivery, open backlogs, and honest status updates — including the hard ones.

06
We leave teams stronger

The goal of every engagement is to make ourselves unnecessary. We write the documentation, run the knowledge transfers, and design systems your team can operate confidently without us.

How we work

What working with VOTUM looks like

How we engage, make technical decisions and hand work over.

Senior-led delivery
Experienced engineers stay involved in technical decisions and delivery — the people who shape the approach also carry it through.
Success criteria agreed up front
Scope, priorities and success criteria are agreed before delivery starts, and progress is reviewed against them.
Architecture stays connected to implementation
The engineers shaping the technical direction remain close to implementation, testing and delivery.
Knowledge stays with the client
Documentation, knowledge transfer and maintainability are treated as part of delivery rather than an afterthought.

We're growing carefully. If you're a senior engineer who wants to do high-quality work with clients who care about it, we'd like to hear from you.
